Boston, MA – New England is set to experience near-record temperatures Monday, with highs reaching 75-80 degrees across the region. Boston, Providence, and Hartford are all expected to approach their respective record highs for the date, with Boston forecasted to hit 78 degrees, just shy of the 82-degree record set in 1920.
According to the National Weather Service, other cities like Providence and Hartford could also come close to record-breaking heat, with predicted highs of 77 and 80 degrees. The unusual warmth is attributed to a high-pressure system, pushing temperatures to levels more typical of early September.
This warm spell will be brief, however, as cooler air returns midweek, bringing temperatures back to more seasonable levels. Residents are advised to enjoy the warm weather, but stay hydrated and take precautions as temperatures soar.
