Nevada — Blue skies this morning won’t last long as a shifting spring pattern begins to reshape conditions across Reno and the Truckee Meadows.

According to the National Weather Service, Reno warms quickly to near 75 degrees today under sunny skies, with calm winds and dry roads across the region. Conditions remain favorable through midday for travel across Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and along I-80 and US-395.

That changes by late Saturday morning, when the first round of scattered showers develops after 11 a.m. Light rain may begin to dampen pavement, especially in low-lying areas near the Truckee River and shaded foothill roads where slick spots can form quickly.

This is part of a broader system pushing inland across the West, bringing increasing moisture and instability into Nevada through early next week.

Sunday brings the most noticeable shift. Showers become more widespread by late morning into the afternoon, with a 50% chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Brief downpours could reduce visibility on I-80 through Reno and into Sparks, while gusty winds may cause sudden crosswinds on elevated roadways.

Drivers should slow down on wet roads and avoid sudden braking, especially near interchanges and underpasses where water can pool.

Monday continues the unsettled pattern with additional showers and a chance of thunderstorms after 11 a.m., keeping roads damp and commutes slower across the region.

Temperatures drop sharply into the low 60s Monday before rebounding by midweek.

5-Day Outlook for Reno:
Saturday: 75° | Slight showers late
Sunday: 72° | Showers, isolated storms
Monday: 62° | Showers, breezy
Tuesday: 69° | Slight storms possible
Wednesday: 76° | Sunny
