Omaha, NE – Nebraskans should prepare for a rainy, potentially hazardous Monday as showers and thunderstorms move into the Omaha area. Residents can expect a 40% chance of rain starting in the early morning, followed by thunderstorms and patchy fog in the afternoon. Travelers along I-480 and other local roadways may experience slick conditions and low visibility due to fog, especially during peak commuting hours.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is anticipated to begin Monday morning, continuing through the day with the highest chances of thunderstorms by late afternoon. Temperatures will start around 57°F and fall to a low of 45°F by Monday night. Gusts up to 20 mph could exacerbate conditions, making outdoor activities and travel potentially unsafe. Those on the road should exercise caution, as reduced visibility and rain-slicked streets may make driving treacherous.

A cool-down is expected as the week progresses, with temperatures hovering in the mid-50s and skies clearing by Tuesday. Wednesday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 57°F, providing a brief respite before cloud cover returns Thursday. Overnight lows for the week are projected to stay around 40°F, with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies expected.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday will remain mostly sunny, but with cooler temperatures and a slight chance of showers Thursday night. Those with travel or outdoor plans later this week should monitor weather updates closely as conditions could change.
