Nashville, TN – Police are searching for a suspect linked to extensive vandalism across Nashville’s WeGo Transit system. A red or maroon car is suspected of involvement in damage to bus shelters throughout the city.

Shots, believed to come from a pellet gun, were fired from the vehicle just before midnight Saturday, targeting a bus stop in the 600 block of Gallatin Pike South. Witnesses reported that the glass shattered upon impact.

Authorities estimate that up to 50 WeGo bus shelters have been damaged over the past three weeks, including 20 this past weekend. The glass enclosures at many stops were either partially or completely destroyed.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, detectives are reviewing evidence to identify those responsible. Citizens are encouraged to report any tips to Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Police believe the same car is involved in multiple incidents.
