A woman died Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision between a Nissan Altima and a Honda Odyssey minivan on Old Hickory Boulevard at Pecan Valley Road. The deceased woman has been identified as Paula Moore, 43, of Nashville.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Moore was driving the Altima, which was traveling north when it crossed the double yellow line. The crash occurred after the Altima collided with a southbound Honda Odyssey. The investigation is ongoing to determine which vehicle was responsible for the crash.
Moore’s 3-year-old daughter, who was seated in a child seat that was not properly installed, sustained critical injuries. Two other teens traveling in the minivan also suffered injuries. The 25-year-old driver of the minivan was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further updates on the investigation are expected.
