Nashville, TN – A man died Sunday night in a fiery single-vehicle crash along the 1700 block of Lebanon Pike.
Authorities report the crash happened around 9 p.m. when a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, traveling east at high speed, failed to navigate a slight curve in the road. The truck struck a utility pole before colliding with a tree and bursting into flames.
According to Metro Nashville Police, another motorist witnessed the accident and immediately called 911. Nashville Fire Department personnel arrived shortly after, extinguishing the fire. Despite their efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is currently working to identify the driver. Investigators have not yet determined if other factors contributed to the crash.
Lebanon Pike, a busy thoroughfare, has seen multiple accidents in recent months, raising concerns about safety conditions and speeding. Officials encourage drivers to remain cautious, particularly at night.
