Mundelein, IL – Mundelein commuters should expect delays this week as Canadian National begins rail maintenance along Townline and Butterfield roads. The Mundelein Police Department has issued a traffic alert, advising drivers to exercise caution in the area.

According to the police, Canadian National will disengage crossing gates at the Townline and Butterfield intersection to conduct track work. Crews will manually stop traffic at the Townline crossing, west of Butterfield Road, when trains pass through.

The work is expected to continue through the end of the week, affecting traffic patterns and potentially increasing congestion. Commuters should plan alternative routes or allow extra travel time to avoid delays during peak hours.
