Gresham, OR – Deputies in Multnomah County seized three firearms and multiple types of suspected drugs early Thursday morning following an investigation near an elementary school in the Portland metro area.
According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began around 1 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, when a deputy noticed a parked vehicle in a fire lane near the entrance to Davis Park, located at 322 Northeast 194th Avenue in Gresham. The park sits just north of Davis Elementary School, raising additional concern about the location of the incident.
Authorities said four individuals were inside the vehicle, all allegedly under the age of 21. Deputies observed open containers of alcohol along with signs of drug use and paraphernalia inside the car.
During the investigation, deputies recovered three firearms, ammunition, and suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. Officials also reported finding materials consistent with potential drug distribution, including packaging items.
No names have been released, and authorities have not confirmed formal charges as the case remains under investigation. According to officials, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office will review the case to determine possible criminal charges.
The sheriff’s office said the seizure reflects ongoing proactive patrol efforts aimed at removing illegally possessed firearms and drugs from communities across Multnomah County, which includes Gresham and the greater Portland area.
Officials continue to stress the dangers of fentanyl and other controlled substances, particularly when found in proximity to public spaces like parks and schools.
