Lynwood, IL — A 54-year-old woman from Lynwood, identified as Dartina Dunlap, has died following a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of 188th Street and Torrence Avenue. Dunlap sustained multiple blunt force traumatic injuries as a result of the crash.
According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred on Monday, and Dunlap was pronounced dead at Munster Community Hospital at 8 p.m. that day. The family positively identified Dunlap at the hospital. A forensic autopsy, conducted at the Lake County Forensic Center in Crown Point, IN, confirmed the fatal injuries.
The Lansing Police Department, along with the Cook County Sheriff’s Department and Lansing Fire Department, responded to the scene. Emergency personnel dispatched the Lake County Coroner’s Medicolegal Death Investigation team shortly after the incident.
