St. Charles County, MO – Overnight lane closures at the busy I-70/I-64/U.S. 61 interchange have been rescheduled because of weather, changing the construction timeline for drivers traveling through St. Charles County.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), planned lane closures on both eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 were delayed due to weather conditions. All work remains weather permitting.

The revised schedule calls for eastbound I-70 lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday night, July 14, at the I-70/I-64/U.S. 61 interchange. Drivers should expect reduced lanes and possible delays while crews complete construction activities.

MoDOT said westbound I-70 lane closures are now scheduled to occur overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on July 15 through July 17, and again on July 20.

The closures are part of the ongoing Improve I-70 program, a statewide effort to modernize one of Missouri’s busiest transportation corridors. Motorists traveling through the interchange should plan for additional travel time and remain alert for workers, equipment, and changing traffic patterns in the construction zone.

Officials encourage drivers to slow down, obey posted work-zone speed limits, and consider alternate routes if possible during the overnight construction periods.

Because the work is weather dependent, additional schedule changes remain possible if conditions become unfavorable.
