Missouri to Face High Temperatures and Heat Index Over 100 Degrees Next Week

Springfield, MO – Missouri residents should prepare for a scorching weekend as temperatures are set to rise significantly. The National Weather Service in Springfield reports that mostly sunny conditions with slightly cooler and drier air will prevail through the weekend. Highs will range from the upper 80s to mid-90s, with lows in the 60s. By Monday, warmer temperatures are expected, with highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values from the mid-90s to around 102 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, an upper-level high pressure system will build into the area early next week, bringing hot and generally dry conditions. Afternoon highs are forecasted to soar from the upper 90s to around 102 by Tuesday, with heat index values reaching 100 to 106. Little to no precipitation is expected through the middle of next week.

Today’s forecast includes highs between 89 and 93 degrees with mostly sunny skies and heat index values between 92 and 97. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with lows from 67 to 70 degrees. On Sunday, temperatures will range from 92 to 96 degrees with heat index values between 94 and 101. Sunday night will be mostly clear with lows between 68 and 71 degrees. Monday’s forecast predicts mostly sunny and warmer conditions with highs from 94 to 99 degrees and heat index values from 96 to 102.
