Duluth, MN – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of northeastern Minnesota, including Duluth, Hibbing, and Two Harbors, until 10 a.m. Tuesday, as freezing rain and snow create hazardous travel conditions. The advisory covers Northern Aitkin, Carlton, and St. Louis counties, with ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch expected.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth, roads, bridges, and overpasses are likely to become slick, increasing the risk of accidents. Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling and be mindful of icy sidewalks and driveways.

Meanwhile, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Douglas County, Wisconsin, including the city of Superior, from Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon. The NWS warns of mixed precipitation, including freezing rain Monday night and a transition to snow late Tuesday. Total ice accumulations could reach one-tenth of an inch, with additional snowfall expected overnight into Wednesday morning.

Travel conditions could be dangerous, particularly during the Wednesday morning commute, as blowing snow may reduce visibility. Motorists are encouraged to check road conditions before heading out and allow extra travel time.
