Aberdeen, SD – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of South Dakota and western Minnesota from early Tuesday morning through the evening, bringing snow, ice, and strong winds.

According to the National Weather Service, affected areas include Edmunds, Faulk, Potter, Brown, and Roberts counties in South Dakota, as well as Traverse and Big Stone counties in Minnesota. Snowfall could reach up to four inches in some locations, with ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch. Winds may gust as high as 50 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, and icy roads—especially on bridges and overpasses—may impact both morning and evening commutes. Tree branches could also be downed due to strong winds.

Travelers are advised to slow down and exercise caution. Road condition updates are available by dialing 511 in Minnesota and South Dakota.
