Twin Cities, MN – A warm and mild Thursday is giving Minnesotans a break, but winter is making a strong return this weekend. Snow chances increase Saturday, followed by a sharp drop in temperatures with single-digit lows expected by early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high temperatures will range from 45-55 degrees across the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. However, colder air moves in by Friday, bringing highs of 30-40 degrees and lows between 20-25 degrees. By Saturday, expect cloudy skies with a 30-50% chance of light snow and temperatures dipping further.

Sunday’s forecast includes a 10-30% chance of a rain and snow mix, with highs between 35-45 degrees before an even colder blast arrives. Overnight lows could plummet to 5-12 degrees by early next week.

Residents should prepare for shifting road conditions and potential travel disruptions, especially by the weekend. Stay updated with local forecasts and drive cautiously as snow and freezing temperatures return.
