Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee woke up to bitterly cold temperatures Friday morning, with lows dipping into the teens across the region. Highs are expected to remain below 40 degrees today, but a gradual warm-up over the weekend offers some relief.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will rise to a high near 51 on Saturday under clear skies. Tonight, expect lows around 22 degrees with calm winds. By Sunday, highs may reach 57, though a 40% chance of showers is predicted for the afternoon and evening. Gusts up to 20 mph are possible late in the day.

The start of next week brings a significant shift, with widespread rain forecast Monday. Highs will climb into the mid-60s, but up to an inch of rain is expected. Showers could persist into Tuesday with winds increasing and gusting up to 25 mph.

Residents should take precautions for the freezing conditions Friday and Saturday mornings, particularly on untreated roadways. As rain returns, drivers are advised to monitor road conditions closely on interstates like I-40 and I-65, where standing water may become an issue early next week.

The five-day forecast shows another cooling trend by midweek, with partly sunny skies and highs dropping to the 40s by Wednesday. Stay tuned for updates as conditions develop.
