La Crosse, WI – Warmer temperatures are on the horizon for the La Crosse region this weekend, giving residents a reprieve from the winter chill. Highs are expected to reach into the mid-40s by Saturday and Sunday, with some areas south of Interstate 90 possibly nearing 50 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday morning may bring freezing drizzle north of Highway 10, creating slick conditions for travelers. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during the morning commute and monitor local weather updates for changing conditions.
Saturday will be partly sunny with highs around 44 degrees. Light south winds will increase slightly in the afternoon, keeping conditions pleasant for outdoor activities. By Sunday, temperatures will climb further to 46 degrees under mostly sunny skies, making it the warmest day of the week.
However, weather changes are expected late Sunday night into Monday as rain and snow chances increase across the region. Monday’s high will reach 43 degrees, but gusty winds could make conditions feel cooler. Rain or snow may impact Monday morning commuters, particularly in areas north of La Crosse.
Residents are advised to prepare for potential precipitation early next week by checking forecasts and dressing appropriately. The remainder of the week will bring a return to colder conditions, with highs dropping to the upper 20s by Tuesday.
