Michigan’s Upper Peninsula Weather: Cold Front Brings Showers, Cooler Days Ahead

Marquette, MI – Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is set to experience a significant weather shift as a cold front moves in, bringing much-needed relief from the current heat wave. Today will start sunny and warm, with temperatures reaching between 76 to 81 degrees near Lake Superior and 81 to 88 degrees in the south-central region. However, evening clouds and scattered showers are expected, primarily in the western areas.

According to the US National Weather Service in Marquette, the change will continue into Sunday with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs will range from 75 to 82 degrees, with the warmest temperatures in the southern parts of the peninsula. Monday will bring cooler temperatures, with highs between 70 and 75 degrees and occasional rain showers.

The trend of cooler weather will persist into Tuesday, with temperatures ranging from 71 to 77 degrees. By midweek, temperatures will stabilize, with highs around 72 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, accompanied by partly cloudy skies.
