Grand Rapids, MI – The City of Grand Rapids is set to host a major campaign event featuring former President Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance on Saturday at Van Andel Arena. Doors will open at noon, with the event starting at 5 p.m.
According to the Grand Rapids Police Department, several downtown roads surrounding the arena will be closed. The closures include Fulton Street from Market/Monroe Avenue to Ionia Avenue, Ottawa Avenue from Fulton Street to Oakes Street, Oakes Street from Ottawa Avenue to Ionia Avenue, and Weston Street from Ionia Avenue to the Van Andel Arena.
There will be rolling road closures before and after the event. Out-of-town visitors are advised to check the city’s road closure map for information on current construction closures, including Division Avenue from Fulton Street West to Michigan Street NE.
Public and private parking ramps and lots in downtown will remain open, except for Grand Rapids Parking Area 2 behind the arena. On-street metered parking will not be available around the arena.
