Peacock Township, MI – Authorities are searching for a 67-year-old Lake County man with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease who was last seen Sunday afternoon in Peacock Township.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the man, identified as Jack Albert Peterson, was last in contact with others near Irons Road and 4 Mile Road in Irons on Sunday. The Michigan State Police Hart Post is leading the search and has requested public assistance in locating him.
Peterson is described as being 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with green eyes and brown/graying hair. Officials said Peterson’s vehicle, phone, and personal belongings were found at his home, raising concerns that he may have wandered on foot.
Authorities are urging residents in the area to check all outbuildings and surrounding properties. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lake County Central Dispatch at 231-745-2711.
In an unrelated incident, emergency personnel also responded to an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident in nearby Dover Township. No additional information on the ATV accident was immediately available.
The search for Peterson remains ongoing as crews coordinate ground and aerial operations throughout the heavily wooded region.
