Conway, Ark. – Arkansas State Police (ASP) troopers arrested a Michigan man Sunday after discovering a functional explosive device and illegal narcotics during a traffic stop on Interstate 40. The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. near the Dave Ward exit, where troopers pulled over a gray 2020 Chevrolet Suburban for a traffic violation.
Upon searching the vehicle, troopers found a metallic cylinder resembling a CO2 cartridge, confirmed by the ASP Bomb Squad and Conway Fire Department technicians as a functional explosive. The bomb was safely transported to another location for disassembly.
In addition to the explosive, officers found illegal drugs, including marijuana, a mushroom candy bar, and prescription pills, along with drug paraphernalia and multiple forged identification cards.
The driver, identified as Jeremy Lee Henry, 36, of Taylor, Michigan, was taken into custody. Henry faces several charges, including criminal use of a prohibited weapon, second-degree criminal impersonation, possession of controlled substances, and multiple traffic violations. Authorities later discovered an outstanding escape warrant for Henry in Tennessee. He is currently held at the Faulkner County Detention Center.
