According to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, these emails include screenshots from Google Earth, which show the recipient’s home to appear more legitimate. Authorities are urging citizens not to respond or send any money, as the claims are false.
The Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the situation and believes the emails originate overseas. If anyone receives such an email, they are asked to forward it to the sheriff’s department for further investigation.
