Elkton, MD – A Cecil County woman is facing multiple charges after police say she allegedly attempted to interfere with a witness in connection to a road rage case last month.
According to the Maryland State Police, 26-year-old Taylor Alise Tatman of Elkton was arrested on May 29 and charged with one felony count and one misdemeanor count of witness intimidation and obstruction of justice. She was later released on her own recognizance.
The investigation began after authorities arrested Javoughn Berbick, 28, in connection with an alleged road rage incident on May 17. Berbick is currently being held without bail at the Cecil County Detention Center. Police say that during the course of their investigation, Tatman — believed to be in a relationship with Berbick — was identified as the suspect responsible for witness tampering.
The charges were brought following an inquiry by the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative, which was probing reports that someone had attempted to intimidate witnesses linked to Berbick’s case.
Authorities have not released further details about the nature of the alleged intimidation or the identities of those targeted.
The case remains under investigation.
