Baltimore, Maryland – Heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms will continue across Maryland through Saturday, with the most intense rainfall targeting areas along and east of the I-95 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, a low-pressure system is fueling widespread showers, with embedded thunderstorms possible, especially Thursday through Saturday. Eastern counties including Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, and parts of Baltimore County are expected to see the highest rainfall totals.
Western Maryland, including Hagerstown and Cumberland, will remain cooler and slightly drier but should still prepare for intermittent rain and slick travel conditions. Temperatures statewide will remain below average through Wednesday before gradually warming toward the weekend.
Localized street flooding, especially in low-lying areas, is possible. Residents are urged to avoid driving through water-covered roads and to monitor updates from local emergency management. Rain will likely taper off Saturday evening, with clearer, drier conditions expected Sunday into Monday.
Additional weather alerts may be issued if thunderstorm intensity increases or if flooding concerns escalate.
