Caribou, Maine – Scattered thunderstorms and evening showers are moving across Maine Sunday night as a slow-moving front presses in, bringing a mix of weather conditions through Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, a stalled front will deliver widespread rain and cooler temperatures to northern counties Monday, while central areas face thunderstorms and southern Maine experiences highs in the upper 80s with sun and humidity. Temperatures will vary widely, from the mid-60s in the north to near 90°F inland south.

Drivers across I-95 and Route 1 should prepare for slick roads and poor visibility in storm-prone areas, especially through central towns like Millinocket and Houlton. Power outages are also possible with isolated thunderstorms Monday afternoon.

By Tuesday, the north will enjoy a seasonably warm and partly sunny day, while clouds linger farther south. Inland areas could reach the mid-70s. Wednesday brings a drier, more uniform pattern with partly sunny skies and upper 70s statewide.

Residents should monitor local alerts and limit outdoor plans during thunderstorms. Additional advisories may be issued as the stalled front continues influencing Maine’s weather early this week.
