Lake Charles, LA – A single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 3059 claimed the life of a motorcyclist Sunday morning. The accident occurred near Luke Powers Road shortly after 11 a.m.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop D, 27-year-old Brandon Clark of Lake Charles was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson eastbound. Investigators believe Clark’s motorcycle veered off the roadway, overturned, and ejected him.

Clark was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash. Despite this, he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities collected standard toxicology samples from Clark and submitted them for analysis. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials have not ruled out factors such as distracted or impaired driving.

State police emphasized the ongoing danger of impaired and distracted driving, which remain leading causes of crashes statewide. They urged motorists to stay alert, focused, and sober while on the road.
