Homer, LA – A Claiborne Parish man was killed Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 3062, authorities said.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop G, 39-year-old Tansay Harper of Homer was driving west on Louisiana Highway 3062 near Meadors Lane around 2:00 p.m. when his vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned. Harper, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Impairment has not been ruled out, and routine toxicology samples have been collected for analysis.

State Police emphasized that while not all crashes are survivable, the proper use of seat belts can significantly reduce fatalities and injuries. Officials urge all drivers and passengers to buckle up to increase their chances of survival in the event of a crash.

This incident remains under investigation.
