Los Angeles, CA – $10,000 Reward Offered in November Fatal Shooting of 21-Year-Old Woman

Los Angeles, CA – A 21-year-old woman was fatally shot in Los Angeles last November, and investigators are now renewing their call for help from the public in identifying those responsible.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Lanai Dees was killed around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024, as she drove westbound in the south alley of Century Boulevard, west of South Wilton Place. Dees was allegedly shot by unknown suspects, causing her vehicle to crash into a concrete staircase. She died at the scene from her injuries. The suspects reportedly fled immediately after the shooting.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved. The Homicide Bureau is actively investigating the case, and detectives are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.

A blurry image of the suspect vehicle was shared in a public bulletin. Authorities are directing tips to Detectives A. Guillen or K. Collinsworth at (323) 890-5500, referencing File Number 024-09945-0373-011. Tipsters wishing to remain anonymous can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Investigators are hoping the reward and increased public outreach will prompt leads in what remains an open and active case.
