CHICAGO, IL – A man drove his vehicle onto the NASCAR Chicago Street Race track late Saturday night, resulting in an arrest and the issuance of three traffic tickets.
According to Chicago Police reports, the incident occurred when the individual, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly breached the track’s security and entered into an unauthorized area. At the time he was headed northbound on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive when he allegedly crashed into a barricade, gaining access to the race track.
Fortunately, the track was vacant at the time, and no injuries were reported. However, the unauthorized intrusion highlights the need for enhanced security measures.
The driver was taken into police custody and issued traffic tickets for reckless driving.
