PARK FOREST, Ill. – A shocking daytime shooting occurred on Allegheny Street, leaving two men injured.

According to Park Forest Police, it happened Monday at 12:35 pm when a black sedan reportedly pulled up in front of a residence where two men, aged 18 and 28, sat in their parked vehicle. Without warning, three masked and gloved gunmen emerged from the sedan, firing multiple shots at the unsuspecting victims.

Thanks to the swift response of Park Forest Police and Fire Department Paramedics, both victims received immediate medical attention and were transferred to local hospitals. The younger victim from Park Forest remains in stable condition, while the elder from Steger has since been released.

Evidence suggests that this brazen attack was not a random act of violence. Although no arrests have been made, officials believe there’s no continuing threat to the community.

The Illinois State Police C.S.I team is on the case, urging anyone with pertinent information to contact the Park Forest Police Department Investigations Division at (708) 748-1309.
