BREMEN TOWNSHIP, Ill. – A couple has been charged for the murder of a Chicago man found on the side of the road in unincorporated Bremen Township.

Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced Friday Alberto Luces, 45, and Yessenia Bradford, 50, were arrested April 13 in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Agustin Guinac Chaj of Chicago.

On July 11, 2021, Cook County Sheriff’s Police responded to a report of an unresponsive man found by passing motorists in the area of Central Avenue and 177th Street. The victim, who was later identified as Guinac Chaj, was unclothed from the waist down and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff’s Police detectives report they discovered that Luces and Bradford allegedly lured Guinac Chaj, whom they did not know, to their van after he was at a Chicago restaurant with them. The couple beat and strangled him, then drove his unresponsive body to the area where he was found.

Both Luces and Bradford, who reside in the 1500 block of North Kolin Avenue, were denied bond during their court appearance at the Markham Courthouse. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved first-degree murder charges for both defendants.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
