Normal, IL – A Normal man has been honored with the Citizen Life Saving Award for his heroic actions that saved a young woman’s life in January.

According to the Normal Police Department, on the evening of January 19, Alyssa Enevold, 22, suffered a severe cardiac event while walking on East Cherry Street. Bystander Anthony Michalski, a certified lifeguard, immediately administered CPR until the Normal Fire Department arrived. Medics restored Alyssa’s heartbeat using a defibrillator before transporting her to Carle BroMenn Hospital, where she was further stabilized.

Anthony’s swift response and life-saving skills were crucial in this emergency, highlighting the importance of immediate CPR in such situations.
