Indiana: Rural Harrison County Shooting Leaves Two Dead, One Injured

Harrison County, IN – Indiana State Police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in rural Harrison County that left two dead and one injured Friday evening.

According to ISP, Harrison County officers and troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting on Mosquito Creek Road near Laconia just after 6:00 p.m. Responding officers found 56-year-old victim who had been shot in the arm. The victim was transported to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers then discovered two deceased individuals, identified as 84-year-old Donald Ray Weaver and 82-year-old Virginia Y. Scofield, outside the residence. Investigators believe Weaver shot the victim during a verbal argument and subsequently killed Scofield before turning the gun on himself. The investigation is ongoing, with autopsies scheduled for Monday.
