Streator, IL – Authorities responded to a tense home invasion incident early Sunday morning in the 1600 block of South Bloomington Street. Deputies received reports of an armed suspect, leading to a barricade situation.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect entered a home with a weapon and later barricaded himself inside a nearby residence. Deputies collaborated with the Streator Police Department to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
Officers successfully negotiated with the suspect and took him into custody without further escalation. The suspect is currently being held at the Livingston County Jail.
Authorities confirmed no injuries occurred during the incident. Investigators continue to examine evidence and interview witnesses to determine a motive.
