Quincy, CA – A fatal crash on SR-89 near Dixie Canyon Road claimed one life Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
A gray Subaru Outback traveling northbound veered off the roadway at approximately 4:20 p.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported. The vehicle struck a cedar tree and caught fire, fully engulfing the car in flames.
Emergency responders found the driver deceased at the scene. CHP stated the driver succumbed to injuries caused by the crash and the subsequent fire. The driver has not been identified as of now.
