Lexington, SC – A Lexington County man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to the chronic sexual abuse of a minor, according to the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Alan Rojas Santos, 39, entered his plea on November 17, 2025, to Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor in the First Degree. The Honorable Brian Gibbons imposed the maximum sentence of 50 years, noting that under South Carolina law, the offense carries “no parole” and requires mandatory registration as a sex offender.

According to the Solicitor’s Office, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department launched its investigation in October 2024 after receiving a report of a sexual assault. Investigators learned that Santos had allegedly begun sexually abusing the victim when she was just eight years old. The abuse continued for several years before Santos ultimately confessed, authorities said.

Assistant Solicitor Whitney Taylor prosecuted the case, describing it as one of chronic and traumatic sexual abuse. Officials emphasized that such crimes will not be tolerated in Lexington County.

Santos has been transferred to the South Carolina Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence immediately.
