Fort Myers, FL – A Fort Myers man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to 20 felony charges stemming from a child sexual abuse material investigation, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit launched the investigation in September 2024 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding child sexual abuse material (CSAM) allegedly being distributed through multiple social media applications from a residence in Fort Myers.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for a home in the 1700 block of Yager Circle, where they made contact with Jeremy Buen, 42.
Investigators said they located CSAM on Buen’s electronic devices. According to the sheriff’s office, Buen admitted to sending and receiving child sexual abuse material on his cellphone during the investigation.
Buen was arrested in September 2025 and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of transmission of child pornography.
In April 2026, Buen pleaded guilty to all 20 charges.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Buen has now been sentenced to 25 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, followed by 15 years of sex offender probation upon his release.
The case was investigated by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office ICAC Unit, which investigates internet-facilitated crimes involving the exploitation of children. Officials continue to encourage the public to report suspected child exploitation through appropriate law enforcement channels.
