North Fort Myers, FL – A late-night burglary at a North Fort Myers smoke shop was solved within hours after deputies used surveillance footage and community tips to identify and arrest a teenage suspect.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the break-in happened Tuesday, April 22, around 12:03 a.m. at Smoke & More in North Fort Myers, located in Lee County near the Cape Coral metro area. Deputies responding to a burglary alarm found the front glass door shattered.

Investigators say surveillance video captured a white male in his late teens arriving with two beer kegs. The suspect allegedly used one keg to smash the front door, entered the business, and stole approximately $100 worth of Raz-brand vape products before fleeing on foot. The second keg was left behind at the scene. Property damage to the business is estimated at $750.

A K-9 track was conducted but did not immediately locate the suspect. However, after images from the surveillance video were released through Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, multiple tips helped identify the suspect as Christopher Brennan, according to deputies.

Authorities say Brennan was later detained, and the stolen items were recovered. He now faces charges including burglary of an unoccupied structure, criminal mischief, and petit theft.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno credited both traditional police work and community cooperation for the swift arrest.

The investigation remains active as officials continue working with the State Attorney’s Office.
