LELAND, IL – A woman’s body was found in Little Indian Creek in LaSalle County near the town of Leland Friday, prompting an investigation by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers were called to the scene on E. 1950th Rd. after the woman’s body was discovered. The Sheriff’s Department believes the incident to be isolated, and an autopsy is scheduled for today.
The woman’s identity is being withheld at this time, pending notification of her next of kin. Both the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office and the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.
Authorities have not released any additional details about the incident or the cause of the woman’s death.
