Las Vegas, NV – A chance of thunderstorms could bring rain and gusty winds to the Las Vegas area Thursday afternoon and evening, impacting travel and outdoor plans across Clark County.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Thursday, with increasing cloud cover and a high near 77°F. Winds from the south will range from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 30 mph.
By Thursday night, storms could continue through 9 p.m., followed by lingering showers until about 10 p.m. Winds will shift southwest and remain breezy at 13 to 18 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph. Temperatures will drop to around 54°F overnight.
Although the risk of severe weather is low, residents should prepare for brief periods of reduced visibility and slick roads during showers. Drivers are encouraged to reduce speed and use headlights during any storm activity.
Skies will begin to clear by early Friday, with sunshine and a high near 71°F expected to start the weekend. No additional precipitation is forecast for Las Vegas through early next week, with highs climbing into the upper 80s by Tuesday.
