Lowell, OR — A 40-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday morning for driving under the influence with a child in the vehicle. Deputies responded to a call on Moss Street in Lowell after reports of erratic behavior from the woman, later identified as Sheiz Paztine Spencer.
Deputies stopped Spencer’s vehicle around 10:30 a.m. and found a juvenile in a car seat. Spencer allegedly resisted arrest, requiring deputies to use a Taser twice to subdue her after she slipped out of handcuffs and continued fighting.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was injured during the struggle but has since returned to duty. The child was unharmed and placed into the custody of the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS).
Spencer was booked at the Lane County Jail on charges including driving under the influence of intoxicants, resisting arrest, reckless endangering, and assault on a public safety officer.
