Lake County, MI: Teen Suspect Identified in Dover Township Larcenies

Lake County, MI – Deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are investigating five break-ins in Dover Township. The incidents occurred between 4 p.m. on October 9 and 10:47 a.m. on October 10. Several items, including guns and a side-by-side vehicle, were stolen during the break-ins.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the side-by-side vehicle was recovered in the evening of October 10. Deputies reviewed security camera footage provided by a victim and posted the video on social media, asking for public assistance.

Later that evening, a local resident contacted authorities with the suspect’s identity. They provided a photograph of the suspect after recognizing them from the footage. The suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile from Bristol, was taken into custody. Deputies also recovered a large portion of the stolen items.

The suspect was released into his parent’s custody, and no names have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
