Cedar Lake, IN – A vessel fire at Pine Crest Marina this afternoon was quickly contained by local firefighters.
The Cedar Lake Fire Department (CLFD) responded at 2:09 p.m. to find the vessel 75% engulfed in flames. Engine 1212 deployed 350 feet of hose to a nearby dock to battle the blaze. Pine Crest Marina assisted by towing the vessel closer to shore.
According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, containment booms were deployed for fuel that leaked into the lake.
No injuries were reported. Lake Dalecarlia Fire Department and Tri-Creek Ambulance Service provided additional support.
