Whiting, IN – BP is addressing reports of odors stemming from an underground small supply line in Whiting, Indiana, activating crews to mitigate potential risks and reassure the public.

According to the Hammond Fire Department, the source of the leak was promptly identified and isolated, with vacuum trucks deployed on-site for cleanup operations. As a precaution, additional air quality monitoring has been installed to detect any elevated levels of harmful contaminants.

BP reports no elevated readings of hazardous materials have been observed, and the situation is being closely monitored.
