Libertyville, IL – A Libertyville substitute teacher was arrested after being charged with two alleged counts of possession of child pornography. Duncan Groebe, 64, was taken into custody following an investigation initiated by an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) cyber tip.

Libertyville Police Officers investigated the case at a residence on the 200 block of Lake Street. Detectives reportedly discovered Groebe possessed child pornography images sourced from the internet. According to the Libertyville Police Department, he was arrested and transported to a medical facility due to an unrelated medical event.

Following his release on September 18, Groebe was transferred to the Lake County Jail. An arrest warrant had been issued earlier, and he is awaiting his First Appearance Hearing. Libertyville detectives worked with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Cyber Crimes Division throughout the investigation.

Officials also confirmed Groebe had worked as a substitute teacher in various Lake County schools. The investigation is ongoing, but no further details are available at this time.
