Lake County, IN – Starting Monday, Nov. 11, motorists traveling on I-65 in Lake County should prepare for overnight lane closures. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will conduct rolling lane closures between mile markers 252 and 261, near U.S. 30 and 15th Avenue, as crews work on pothole patching. The maintenance will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and is expected to last about two weeks.
INDOT warns drivers to anticipate slow-moving maintenance vehicles and shifting traffic patterns. Officials advise drivers to use alternate routes to avoid potential delays.
Currently, I-65 remains limited to two lanes in both directions between I-94 and 61st Avenue due to ongoing concrete repairs, which could further impact travel times. INDOT urges caution and recommends that commuters plan ahead for delays or detours during this maintenance period.
Motorists can stay updated on future traffic changes by following INDOT’s alerts. These repairs are essential for improving road conditions and ensuring safety on I-65.
