La Porte, IN – A sex offender compliance sweep in La Porte County led to three arrests on October 29, officials said. The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) coordinated an unannounced check of 44 registered sex offenders, aiming to ensure they remained compliant with the Sex and Violent Offender Registry requirements.
According to the sheriff’s office, agency personnel from the Criminal Investigations Division and Warrants Division, along with members of the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team and Drug Task Force, joined the operation. As officers conducted compliance checks, they located and detained three individuals wanted on various felony charges.
Those arrested included Briene A. Henderson, charged with failure to comply related to armed robbery (Level 3 felony); Randy L. Hurt, charged with failure to register (Level 6 felony); and Allen E. Lucas, facing charges for five counts of child molesting and obstruction of justice (Level 4 and Level 5 felonies).
This compliance operation was part of LCSO’s ongoing efforts to monitor 209 registered sex offenders in La Porte County. The LCSO collaborates with the statewide OffenderWatch system to track convicted offenders’ locations.
