La Crosse, WI – Light snow and flurries are set to return Thursday afternoon, with intermittent snowfall expected to continue into the weekend. Residents should prepare for potentially slippery road conditions, especially along major highways like I-94.

According to the National Weather Service, a 20% chance of snow will begin Thursday afternoon, increasing to 40% overnight into Friday. Snow accumulation is expected to remain under half an inch, but untreated roads may still become slick. Temperatures will hover near 27°F Thursday before dropping to a low of 19°F overnight.

The weekend forecast offers little respite from the cold. Highs will range from 23°F on Saturday to 24°F on Sunday, with mostly cloudy skies dominating the outlook. A 30% chance of snow will return Sunday, potentially impacting late weekend travel.

Drivers should exercise caution, particularly on bridges and overpasses where icy patches tend to form. If traveling Thursday or Sunday, allow extra time to navigate changing conditions.

Temperatures are expected to remain seasonable through early next week. Monday offers a break with partly sunny skies and highs nearing 27°F, while Tuesday remains mostly sunny with a high near 30°F.
