Hanford, CA – A Kings County Superior Court judge has sentenced a Stratford man to 120 years to life in prison after a jury convicted him of multiple felony sex crimes involving two young children.
According to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, Carlos Yanez Cavazos, 54, was found guilty on April 3, 2026, following a weeklong trial in Department 8 of Kings County Superior Court. The jury convicted Cavazos of two counts of sexual penetration with a child 10 years of age or younger, three counts of oral copulation with a child 10 years of age or younger, and three counts of committing lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14.
Jurors also found true special allegations that the offenses involved multiple victims and that the victims were particularly vulnerable, according to prosecutors.
On Thursday, July 2, 2026, Kings County Superior Court sentenced Cavazos to 120 years to life in state prison.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Shannon Byrne and investigated by the Kings County Sheriff’s Office.
The Kings County District Attorney’s Office said the sentence reflects the seriousness of the crimes and follows the jury’s guilty verdict on all listed charges.
