Paducah, KY – Residents across Kentucky can expect warming temperatures paired with rainy and stormy conditions beginning Friday and continuing into early next week. Those traveling on I-24 should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will bring partly cloudy skies with highs reaching 53 degrees, a noticeable rise from this week’s chill. Saturday, however, will kick off a wet weekend, with rain becoming widespread by afternoon. Forecasts predict a 90% chance of showers along with gusty winds reaching up to 21 mph.
Sunday offers brief relief as rain clears west to east by midday, but showers return Monday with a possibility of thunderstorms. Monday’s high could climb to 63 degrees, making it the warmest day in the forecast. Total rainfall through Monday may range from 1 to 2 inches, increasing the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas.
Travelers and residents should monitor updates, especially those near rivers and flood-prone regions. The Weather Service advises avoiding water-covered roads and securing outdoor objects ahead of the windy, rainy conditions.
Looking ahead, Tuesday is expected to bring drier conditions with a high near 50 degrees under mostly sunny skies. This provides a brief respite before more unsettled weather arrives later in the week.
