Kentucky Weather: Cold Front Brings Rain and Cooler Temperatures

Jackson, KY – A cold front will drop into Kentucky from the north today and tonight, bringing significant weather changes to the region. The front is expected to stall near the Tennessee border on Friday, resulting in drier and slightly cooler air filtering into northern and eastern portions of the area by Friday night.

According to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, Kentucky, the front will lift back north over the weekend. This will bring back higher humidity levels, which combined with passing disturbances, will increase the chances of rain that will persist into the new week.

Today’s forecast predicts locally heavy rain with temperatures ranging from 81 to 87 degrees. Tonight, showers and storms are expected to diminish, with patchy fog in the valleys and temperatures dropping to between 60 and 67 degrees.

Friday will see continued rain chances, particularly in the southern parts of the region, with temperatures ranging from 82 to 88 degrees. Friday night will be cooler, with lows between 59 and 66 degrees.

The weather on Saturday will be warm and humid, with temperatures between 84 and 89 degrees and a 10 to 40% chance of rain. Saturday night temperatures will range from 65 to 70 degrees.

Sunday brings a higher likelihood of rain, with a 50 to 80% chance and temperatures between 82 and 87 degrees. Sunday night will be humid with a 50 to 60% chance of rain and temperatures between 66 and 70 degrees.

The pattern continues into Monday, with high humidity and temperatures between 82 and 87 degrees. There is a 70 to 80% chance of rain during the day, continuing into Monday night with temperatures ranging from 67 to 70 degrees.
